A nice relaxing weekend

Carson is 5 weeks old now! He coos and moves around a lot more, which is exciting! His "talking" just melts my heart. He also has more neck control, he still is floppy, but not nearly as bad as it was!

This weekend was pretty relaxing! Friday, Adam had to take his new car (wolfie) in to get detailed. After that, we went to costco...which is always exciting. I think it was a pretty relaxing day/night. Which was much needed!

Saturday, Adam golfed with Dave...so Carson and I hung around the house. We ended up going to a bbq at my Aunt Tina's house. There were so many people there! A lot of them I have known since I was really really little..so it was interesting seeing them as a Mom :) Carson met a new girlfriend! She is 2 weeks old and her name is Hayden. It's so weird seeing the difference between 2 weeks and 5 weeks. Carson looked huge compared to her!

So today has been a day of relaxing. Nothing much going on...just wanted to give an update!

It's been awhile

It's been awhile since updating. Carson keeps both of us busy as of lately! He is now 1 month and 4 days old, which is crazy to think about! This past month has flown by for both Adam and I, but I wouldn't change our lives for the world. Having Carson around is a blessing, and I'm thankful everyday for him!

So, lots of things have been going on here. During the week, Adam works from 7-6, so I get to hang out Carson and Parker. On the weekends, we have plans most of the time, which is nice. Normally, we have a bbq at my parents house on Sundays. I love it, as it gives the rest of the family a chance to see the baby. My Nieces and Nephew absolutely adore him, as does the rest of the family. Nolan, who is 2 1/2, loves singing "twinkle twinkle little star" to him. She also says he is "mine"...and is so cute.

The BBQ's also involve lots of hotdogs and Smores, which makes me happy!

Parker hurt is leg that same weekend, we don't exactly know what he did, but somehow, he couldn't walk. Scared us all really badly, but he turned out to have a strained ACL. He did gimp around for awhile, and I think he enjoyed all the extra loves and attention. He is currently still recovering. He is loving Carson more and more everyday. Some days, he lays with him during "tummy time" and licks his feet. The day this picture was taken, it was one of those days. Parker definately loves his "baby brother"...and Carson LOVES petting his "big brother"

Saturday, the 12th, we did go out to dinner for Adams birthday to the Iris Grill in Issaquah. Before we went, Carson was napping outside of my parents house, and I thought this picture was cute...he loved just sleeping outside. It was an extremely hot day, but I think that, and the breeze felt great to him!

We have been on a quest to find the "greatest" birth announcement picture. We tried the "naked baby" picture (which didn't work out...see the picture). Carson HATED it. I still thought the picture was cute, and this will be something to embarass him with some day!

And here is one more picture, of him in his "fuzzy" blue blanket. This blanket really makes him happy, it's warm and fuzzy and he absolutely LOVES it.

On Saturday, July 19th, Carson turned one month old! Adam's dad came over to drop of his car, since Adam sold his BMW. It was fun hanging out with Wayne. Carson does love his Grandpa...We just drove around and looked at some cars. We got a free hamburger out of the deal! That night, we had pizza with Scott and Sarah, and went home and relaxed.

Carson's sleep schedule is changing, and I think he was going through a growth spurt. That night, he woke up every hour, on the hour. It was a rough night for Mom!

Sunday, Adam's mom came over and watched Carson while Wayne, Adam and I went and looked at Jetta's. Adam actually bought a new 2008 Jetta Wolfsburg edition (don't quote me on the spelling!) It's black, and nice. It's also a car that Parker and Carson can ride in...which will mean that I don't have to drive so much :)Thank god for Adam's mom, Dorene though. Without her, I wouldn't have been able to look at the car with Adam and his Dad.

We had another bbq that night at my moms. It was relaxing, since only Nolan, Max and Dylan were there.

This past month has been a great great thing though. I seriously cannot imagine life without Carson. Even the days he cries nonstop, they are totally worth it. Carson is now 22 inches long (I measured him!) and weighs about 10.5 lbs. He is a growing, growing boy...and we all couldn't be happier.

Carson also got his first bottle from his Dad! Adam has never fed him before, and Carson just stared at him the entire time. I thought it was incredibly sweet.

We'll make sure this stays updated more often! This weekend is going to be a busy one for us, we have a BBQ to go to on Saturday while Adam is golfing...and maybe Carson will be able to get together with his Cousin Lily soon...we will see!

4th of July and Weekends!

On Friday the 4th, Adam had to go back to work for a few hours. It was pretty sad for me, just because I was used to having him around to help out with things, and comfort me if things got difficult. Well, I survived :) I was incredibly excited! Our first outing with just Carson and Mom was to visit his cousin Lily in the hospital! Lily was born exactly 2 weeks after Carson was, and so it was nice to see them together.



It's weird, because Carson and Lily are about the same size. It was cute though, they both slept the entire time...and had gas together :) gotta love babies! Adam hasn't met Lily yet, but wants to. Hopefully we'll get some more pictures of the babies together soon!

Then, Carson got some love at his Aunt Paula and Uncle Steves house. That was fun, since it was the usual 4th of July bbq. Nolan, Carsons cousin, was so excited to see him! Nolan loves babies, so when we showed up at the house, she was greeting us with a huge smile. She kept saying "baby cousin" over and over. Grandma Pam and Grandpa Dave also got to give Carson lots of love. I can tell you that Carson sleeps incredibly well on Dave!! I think it's his deep voice, but he was out almost the entire time he was being held! Adam got off work about 3 pm, and so he also came to the bbq, which was nice :)

He also got a bib from Aunt Paula celebrating his first 4th. I don't know how he feels about bibs at the moment, but he looked really cute :)


After the bbq, we went over to Uncle Scott and Aunt Sarah's house for fireworks. Sarah was able to hold Carson so Mom and Dad could go out and play for a bit :) That was a nice break! Carson did get to watch some fireworks from inside....and we did get a cute picture of him holding fireworks (not on fire!)

So we all got home at about 12:30am that day, which was exhausting! It was great having an entire day out of the house, but I never knew how tiring it was. I know I'll get more practice at this, but jeez....

Saturday was a day of recovery, we did nothing. It was nice.
Sunday, we ran some errands, and that's about it.

It's weird, because as of today (thursday 7/10), Carson is 3 weeks old. I guess time flies when you're having fun...but seriously, he is growing and changing so much, even from just 3 weeks ago. I love having him, and really wouldn't give it up for anything. My old life and what all the "little" things meant to me, I realize, were nothing compared to Motherhood. I love seeing his face, his smiles (even though it's normally gas), and look forward to all of his firsts...while enjoying where he's at right now! Currently, his neck is strong! He holds his head up by himself for pretty long periods of time (think about 15-20 seconds). He still has a bobble head at times, but I'm so proud of him! He also is a kicker (I knew that when I was pregnant with him!) When he gets upset, he kicks his feet out and stretches as far as he can! I never knew of being proud of a baby just for burping loud. It's amazing how life changes, but for the better. It's worth it! I absolutely LOVE being a mom.

Carson is getting up more during the night now, which makes mom tired...and he's also awake more during the day. I love his awake moments, just because he always looks like he is thinking. It's the cutest thing! He also "talks", which is adorable!

Carson also got babysat by my mom while I had to go out and have this meeting thing on Wednesday. It was weird leaving the house without him, but I was okay with it. He did get his first bottle at this time, and he took to it like no other! I guess he's a little piggy and ate 5 oz while I was gone! Such a big growing boy!

So for this week, our family is great. Adam is dealing with work, and I make sure he gets as much sleep as possible.

Today, nothing is really going on. This weekend, Carson will get an outing and we'll head to Issaquah to get some dinner with my Mom and Dave. Adam gets to play golf with Dave for his birthday, on Saturday. The dinner is at the Iris Grill (Highly recommend it if you're in Issaquah!) Carson was really good a few weeks ago when we went out for mexican food, so I'm crossing my fingers that he's a great baby at the Iris.

Carson is sleeping, so I'm going to take advantage of the downtime and take a shower :) I'm learning how hard it is to fit even a shower into your schedule with a baby! Oh yeah, and it's hard to remember things for me...even eating. I know it's bad! But I never knew that I'd put his needs so much before mine. It's worth it though :) What else is worth it? Carrying a baby 9 months will change ANYONES body. Believe me, I don't think I'll ever be the size 0-2 I once was, but the weird thing is? I LOVE my body now. I love my hips (that can only fit into one pair of jeans...barely!)....I love how my stomach is now (yes, and it's definately never going to be the same). I love that as a woman, WE have the power to create life, and sustain it for the first few months of their life. I love that fact, and am proud of it. Yes, I still get depressed that I can't fit into my clothes. Sometimes I look at my bikinis that I have, and think I'll never get to wear one again. But then I realized, who cares what everyone else thinks? I created LIFE, and there is nothing better than that! I'm down below my pre pregnancy weight, and before, didn't have any hips...had a really nice, kind of toned, flat stomach. Now, I have hips, I weigh 5 lbs less than I did pre-pregnancy...my stomach has some extra skin that I'll lose with time. But when I look at Carsons big blue eyes, it's all worth it.

Oh yes, I'll get a picture of it soon, but Parkers new favorite place to sleep is on Carsons Boppy! He sleeps in the hole part of it, with his head on the outside part, curled up in a ball. I haven't been able to get a picture of this, but anytime it's on the floor..that's where Parker is!

So yes, gotta run. Will update more when something exciting happens....or he does something cute :)

Carson is 2 weeks old! And there is another addition to the family!

Today was Carsons 2 week birthday :) Cheesy, but still, it's amazing that he's already 2 weeks old!

Today consisted of being incredibly busy! Tomorrow Adam goes back to work, which will be incredibly difficult. But, this meant that we had to get all of the "errands" out of the way. First thing this morning, Carson had his 2 week check up at the pediatrician. He has gained 5 oz since his last appt, so this puts him at 8 lbs 4 oz. He's a growing boy, and is right on track! He did get another PKU test, which is where they prick his heel and take some blood. He cried for a second, but then was content and fell fast asleep! I guess we are fairly lucky that he is pretty easy going! The doctor said he looks great, and that makes me happy. We are lucky to have such a healthy boy.

Right after that, we were able to stop by home for a bit for a feeding. Carson likes to eat..and if he doesn't get his food when he wants it, he'll let us know! So he ate like a champ, and then we had to run to my grandparents house. My Uncle Kurt was in town today, from Las Vegas, so we wanted to stop by and show Carson off. We chatted for awhile, but then had to run again, since I had a doctors appointment.

I have had issues since giving birth, and it's not the most exciting story, but it is painful. My OBGYN, Dr Morell, was worried and had me come in. Turns out, it's nothing too bad, but there is nothing that can be done. Time heals all wounds, I guess, but it still stinks in the meantime!

We finally got home and got some food, my first meal ALL DAY LONG! I think everyone was very tired and very cranky. Carson ate, Adam and I ate, and then we all just relaxed.

Tonight was also bath night. Now, this was Carsons second bath at home, and he still didn't take too well to it. Poor guy, he acts like he's dying while we are cleaning him, and then acts like he's dying again when we dry him off! Well, after the bath we put him in his baby towel. Of course I wanted a picture of him in it, and well, the picture turned out cute...but he proceeded to poop EVERYWHERE. Seriously, so it was a huge mess to clean up! Carson then proceeded to cry for about 20 minutes, until Adam could calm him down. I think we all scared him a bit, rushing around trying to figure out what to do with him.

We did get a new addition to our family today! My brother Jerad and sister-in-law, Lisa welcomed their daughter, Lily, into the world at 2:38 pm! She was 8 lbs 9 oz and 20 inches long! Pretty exciting day for them, considering it is also Jerads 29th birthday today! Carson now has a new cousin...and it's nice that they are close in age. Hopefully they will get to spend some time together! I know Adam, Carson and I look forward to meeting Lily!
