3 Months old and some great news!

Sorry, it's been awhile since updating again. Life has been busy busy busy lately, and so the blog has been neglected. Pretty soon, it will slow down again...and we'll update regularly!

Tummy time will pay off..

Carson is growing like a weed...which is to be expected for a baby. He's now 3 months old, and on the 19th (his 3 month birthday), we measured him and weighed him. He is now 25 inches long and 13.6 lbs. He's still pretty skinny though for how long he is, and is STILL wearing most of his 0-3 month clothing. Adams co-worker was generous enough to give us TONS of baby clothes, and most of it was barely worn! He is set when it comes to most 6-9 month clothes and 3-6 month clothes. I think we are so fortunate that we have people that think of Carson and his clothing needs. Grandma Dorene and Grandpa Wayne also got him a whole bunch of clothes in Idaho at a Harley Davidson rally. It's also cute how Grandpa Dave buys all the grandkids PJ's...Carson got a sleeper with a green dinasaur on it. He's actually wearing it right now, and he looks adorable!

We decided to go to Wenatchee on 9/12 for Sarah's bridal shower the next day. On Saturday, one of Grandma Dorene's friends gave us an amazing gift. She made a quilt with pictures of us all from our time in the hospital when Carson was born. I mean, there are actual pictures on this quil,t on cloth. It's amazing! She also put the birth announcement on the back of the quilt. We know she spent TONS of time on this, and we cannot thank her enough! Thanks Anna!! While Adam, Scott and Wayne played golf...the girls went to Barbara's house for Sarah's shower. During the shower, we played the game where there are groups and each group has to have a "bride". Carson was our groups bride...and he looked so cute! Unfortunately, he lost to his Great Grandma Gwen. We had to leave that night though, due to having plans on Sunday for my neice, Erica's birthday celebration/shopping trip. Adam made a beef briskit for the Hawks game on Sunday, and was able to enjoy it with Scott.

Tuesday the 16th, Carson and I and Grandpa Dave and Grandma Pam all went to the Puyallup Fair! Carson had fun looking at cows, horses, goats, and even a corgi named Princess. He also got a taste of whipped cream and whined for more. Yes, we have a 3 month old baby that whines. It's cute though, and we try not to cave into it. After much stimulation at the fair, we went home, where he was too excited to go to sleep.

Friday, Scott and Sarah came over, and we had Pina Colada's (due to the lack of alcohol in my life for the past year...) Carson got lots of love, as that is never ever ever lacking in his life. Saturday, we watched the Cougs actually win a game! We were all shocked, and Carson was sporting his coug gear on game day. Sunday, Carson and I went with his Grandma Pam and Regina to celebrate her 14th birthday. Carson got to go shopping, and out to lunch.

This is where the big news comes in :) We get home on Sunday and Adam put him on his tummy time mat. We try and give him as MUCH tummy time as possible, as he does have a tiny tiny tiny flat spot on his head. So I see that he is starting to roll onto his side (but this time, it looked like he would roll over....) and he DID! He finally rolled over! I, being the over excited mom that I am, start jumping up and down yelling and cheering. Parker runs over and gives Carson kisses, and Adam is super excited too. Carson just laid there, looking like he never wanted to do it again, if he got that response. We are definately excited that he did this. He was so close for awhile, but it's amazing to see your child learn new things. Crazy that 3 months ago, he was a floppy newborn....

His new things are: He LOVES chewing on his hands. They are always in his mouth. He also stares at his feet constantly, which is cute. His hands aren't always fists now, and he grabs stuff. He also loves standing! We are going to get a jumperoo for him, because that is his favorite thing to do. He also goes crazy when his dad plays guitar for him (which he loved when I was pregnant as well!) He also loves his bumbo seat more and more, we set him in it when we eat dinner, so he feels included!

Life is good for us....not one complaint all!

2 month doctors visits and more!

He likes to laugh at even the worst jokes!

On Saturday the 30th, Adam and I went to the WSU game at Qwest Stadium. We woke up early, dropped Carson off at his Uncle Steve and Aunt Paula's, and went off to Seattle. We both met up with Scott and Sarah at Safeco field, where they had their bars open. Since no alcohol is served at Qwest for college games, we took advantage of the alcohol there. After having a few drinks, we went to the game. Our seats were actually really good, and we were close enough that we could probably spit on the field if we wanted. The sun was out, and it was pretty warm. It was a great day to watch football. Sadly enough, the Cougs lost to Oklahoma State University. It was a pretty sad game. We left at the end of the 3rd quarter, so we could get back to Carson and enjoy the bbq that was going on.

Carson got lots of loves from his cousins though, all his cousin Mateo wanted to do was hold him. It's always nice to know that he'll have lots of friends when he grows up!

Sunday, we had a bbq at Scott and Sarah's. We had steaks, ribs and corn...and Adam grilled some of his best steaks yet! Carson got to hang out with his Uncle Scott and Aunt Sarah, which he loves.

Adam had the next two days off from work, which were spent relaxing.

He's trying to tell me about his day, but I can't understand what he's saying!

So, on Thursday, Carson had his 2 month well baby checkup (at 2 1/2 months!) The nurse weighed him correctly this time (face down), and he is 12 lbs, 10 oz. He is only in the 50th percentile for weight, so he's kind of on the skinny side. He is 24 1/2 inches long and in the 75th percentile for height. We still call him chubs at times, just cause of his round face, but he actually is long and lean. Carson loved laying on the table with the paper in his diaper. He would kick and kick, loving the "crinkley" noise that it made. The doctor asked if he was holding his head up at a 45 degree angle, and she had to put him on his stomach to look at his back...the second she did that, he showed her that his neck control is amazing, and he held his head up really high. It was so cute. The doctor said that he's perfectly healthy, and doing great. So then he had to get his shots :( The two nurses first gave him the oral vaccine, which he absolutely LOVED. He sucked that thing down, and probably wanted more. The two shots in the legs were rough to watch though. The nurses poked him at the same time...and his reaction went from startled, and the "what was that?" look, to the pouty lip, to full on screaming. Really sad for Mom to watch, which is why Dad was there!

Carson was pretty fussy for the rest of the day, which was difficult. He did sleep a lot, and I was able to give him infant tylenol...thank God for that stuff!

Friday, we got up and went to Costco and to Fred Meyer. Adams Cousin, Sarah, donated money for Carsons outfit for the wedding...and we got him a little suit. The white shirt is a little snug, so we're getting another one...but the tie, vest and pants will definately fit for the wedding.

Saturday was the day of the Coug game. Adam went golfing with Carsons Grandpa Dave, and was back home by noon. Soon after, Adams Mom, Grandma and Aunt Barbara came over to visit. I think Grandma Dorene needed to get her "Carson fix". He was still pretty cranky about the shots, and was tired on top of it...so he was a little fussy. Carson got lots of new clothes from Grandma Dorene. He is going to definately be a well dressed baby! We then watched the Cougs get stomped by Cal. It was a pretty sad day. Carson and I ended up going to my parents house, where we hung out, roasted hot dogs, and talked.

Sunday was another day of football. The Hawks got stomped by the Bills. We all went over to Scott and Sarah's, where Carson got lots of Tummy Time. Gizmo wasn't too thrilled about having the baby in his territory, and was confused about him being on the floor, but he loves babies! After an incident with our slow cooker not working, we made a roast in a BRAND NEW slow cooker! Adam played his new game he got. It was a pretty relaxing night.

Parker is now very involved with Carson. He loves laying down with him for tummy time, and is obsessed with licking his "baby brothers" face. Anytime Carson is on the floor, Parker is right there with him. It is really sweet, and I'm so happy that Parker loves his brother as much as we love him! He adopted a piece of Carson's tummy time mat.

Not sure what to say other than, that's sad..

So that is it, we are all ready for the wedding in October, and are just enjoying the last of the "warm" days. Fall is upon us, and so is football season. Carson has some Cougar gear, which I'm excited for him to grow into...not that we want him to grow too fast!
