Sorry, it's been a month :( Happy Holidays!

Time is flying by and Carson is growing leaps and bounds! In the past month he has learned so many new things, which is great! He is now waving, we don't think he knows what this means, but he'll copy you if you do it. It really is adorable to see his chubby hand start to wave at you, kind of trying to get your attention. Carson is now starting to get up on his hands and knees, but then falls over after a second. He knows how to army crawl though, and if he really wants something, he will roll to it. He loves to stick out his tongue, and suck on it. Makes some pretty funny "old man" faces. He still doesn't have teeth, which is okay. When I was a baby, I got my teeth really late, but we are expecting Carsons to come in soon. He has the little bumpies on the bottom, and he is pulling at his ears a lot and chewing on everything in sight. It's only a matter of time.

So, this month has brought many new interests for Carson! On the 13th, Adams Parents came up to do their annual shopping trip for Christmas, and during that time, it snowed. We took him out in it for a picture, but I think he didn't like the cold that much. We weren't really prepared for the snow that came later. We had plans for my 25th birthday, on the 18th, to go out to eat at the 3rd Floor Fish Cafe, but the reservations were cancelled due to the snow. So, my birthday was spent playing with Carson and Parker and watching Adam work. It's okay though, I'll always remember that day :) The snow didn't let up, as everyone knows, and we ended up having almost 10 inches by the end of the weekend. We made due by walking to the store, with the baby in his baby bjorn. Still, don't think he's a fan of the snow.

On Monday the 22nd, Adams Dad came to pick us up from our house to take us to Wenatchee for Christmas. It was incredibly generous to drive from Wenatchee at 4 am, to be here by 7 am, only to drive back again. We're so lucky that Carson is so good in the car, because really, he slept almost the entire way. Parker was confused as to why I was in "his" backseat though. He liked the extra attention, after he got used to riding on my lap! The passes weren't that bad though, just some compact snow and ice, but it was a pretty drive!

Everyone was excited for Carsons first Christmas :) He had many gifts underneath the tree, and had a stocking full of goodies from Santa as well. We spent time with Adams family that were missing Keebs....and it was nice to have a little break while he got lots of loves from Grandma Dorene and Grandpa Wayne...as well as GG (Great Grandma) and Great Grandpa. He is really lucky that so many people love him!

Christmas Eve at the Sannes household is one filled with lots of food, and fun white elephant gifts. Adam stole a popcorn movie thingy, but later got it stolen by someone else. He ended up with something that neither of us can remember. I ended up with a book (which I get every white elephant exchange)...that Adams cousin later took home with her :) Adams dad gave me his monkey slippers that he won. Hey, I love monkeys, what can I say?

We also did the family gift exchange that night. Adams Cousin Sarah spoiled us! She got Carson his first laptop, which is a toy he absolutely LOVES. He rolls over on it, kicks it and hits it so it lights up and sings different songs. I think Parker likes it to, at night we randomly hear it start to talk...and Parker is sitting by it :) She got Adam a new clock/pen set engraved with his initials for his office. It's really pretty! I got a bracelet with my initials on it, and I love it! Sarah spoiled us....THANK YOU!

Carson also got to open his yearly gift of Pajamas. He is more interested in the paper than anything else, it's adorable. The rest of the night was spent playing poker and relaxing.

Christmas morning we were welcomed by full stockings courtesy of Santa! Carson got a new WSU hat (that he looks so cute in), new binkies, a Christmas ornament...and tons of other stuff. Santa brought me some mint lipgloss, that Parker later ate, and bath stuff! Adam got candy and all of the essentials that he loves opening. We were so lucky to get a video camera to record Carson's first Christmas! It was great getting video of all the wrapping paper he was eating, and his reaction to his toys. Grandma Dorene and Grandpa Wayne spoiled him, as did his Uncle Scott and Aunt Sarah. We spent the rest of the day relaxing, and getting ready for Christmas dinner. Everyone came over again, and we got to hang out and have fun.

Adams Dad drove us back from Wenatchee on the 27th, which we thought the roads were going to be worse than they were. It was a pretty easy drive, other than the spots of slush. It was nice to be home and relax at our house....

During all of this, Carson turned 6 months old! We had his 6 month check up yesterday, and the doctor said that he's perfect. He weighs 15 lbs 15 oz and is in the 20th percentile. She says it's okay that he's not gaining as fast, and it's normal for gaining weight to start slowing down now. He is 27 inches long, and is in the 70th percentile. He's long and skinny, like he always has been :) He did get 4 shots though, poor kid. He cried once and fell asleep in his car seat!

We are excited to spend New Years Eve relaxing and not doing much. It'll be different than any other year. I don't think I've spent a New Years at home since I was 16, but it's okay.

Apple Cup and TWO Thanksgivings!

Twilight was released on 11/21, and Adam and I were there to watch it along with Paula, Regina, Erica, Matt, Tonia, my Mom and Dave. It was great seeing my mom and Dave who were FINALLY back from Hawaii! We loved the movie (Adam was indifferent...) and it was fun to get the group together to see the movie. Thank you to Erica and Gina for standing in line for 2 hours beforehand!

On 11/22, the Cougars beat out the Huskies for the Apple Cup win :) Carson was dressed in his coug gear, and watched the game from his Jumperoo at Uncle Scotts house. Grandpa Wayne and Grandma Dorene were over, and made an early Thanksgiving feast for us. Since we were unable to go to their house for Turkey Day, and neither was Scott and Sarah, they brought it over early for us! There was a ton of turkey and mashed potatoes! Carson enjoyed seeing his Grandparents...and had fun watching the Cougs. It was a great day!

Carson had a doctor appointment for the last of his 4 month shots on Wednesday. They were out of the Hib vaccine when we were there last, so we had to wait until 5 months to get it. He also needed a weight/growth check, to see where he was at. He is still 26.5 inches and weighs 15.2 lbs. His weight percentile weight down again, and he's at the 25th percentile for weight. The change wasn't enough, so we decided to start him on rice cereal that night. As for the shot, he got upset, burst into tears and was fine when we got him dressed. He pretty much fell asleep when we got him to the car, and we were able to run errands while he was sleeping. Carson was also able to see his new friend Jackson Douglas. We went over to Scott and Sarah's for dinner (really good chilli!) and Jason, Sarah and Jackson stopped by to visit. It was great seeing them, and meeting Jack for the first time. It was weird holding a newborn again, as he was only 3 weeks old...and seeing the difference between Jackson and Carson was amazing! But, we do remember how the sleepless nights were, and we wouldn't change Carson's age for anything :)

His first experience with rice cereal went okay. We made it more liquidy than we normally would, as he wasn't used to it. But, he was overly hungry...so he was pretty upset during the feeding process. He did manage to get rice cereal everywhere, including his hair...so bathtime followed the feeding!

Thanksgiving was on Thursday, and we all looked forward to it. We relaxed all morning, then all got loaded up and over to my Aunt and Eric's house. There, Carson was greeted by his Cousin Nolan, who just wanted to give him loves. Grandpa Dave and Grandma Pam were incredibly excited to see Carson, as they were gone for a month! He never lacked in the love department while there. Scott and Sarah made it over to eat some turkey, which was great! Carson got to eat mashed potatoes before we even were able to eat turkey. He LOVEd them! He wanted more and more and more...he was even lucky enough to try some sweet potato pie, which was awesome!

Later, the rice cereal feeding went better, we made it thicker, and Carson chowed down. He is now getting a hang of eating it, and scarfs it down like no other.

We can't believe that November is now over and Christmas is on its way! Carson will soon get to experience Santa, and snow and lots of fun stuff! We are excited!

5 month old Keeb!!

Carson is 5 months old as of yesterday! We are so happy that he's growing and learning new things!! We really couldn't imagine life without him, but at the same time, it's flying by so fast! It feels like just yesterday we were in the hospital....

He talks and talks, but we can't understand him yet..

More exciting news, on 11/17, he rolled over back to front for the first time. He was getting pretty good at the belly to back, but had never rolled back to belly before. Watching it was amazing...but it happens few and far between, as he really isn't a huge fan of tummy time.

On the 11th, Carsons Grandpa Brent came to visit all the way from Florida. It was great to see him, and see him get to see his grandson for the first time. Of course, he fell in love with Carson, and it makes me so happy that he was able to bond with him for a day.

The day after Grandpa Brent left, Carson, his Aunt Paula and I went to the Olive Garden for lunch. Carson LOVED looking at all the decorations, and even got to try a little tiny piece of bread. Seriously, it was smaller than a grain of rice, and he acted like it was poisen...gagging and all. Poor kid. I was lucky enough to get the reaction on camera....

Adam went to Wenatchee to go hunting on the 14th with his dad and uncle Sandy. It was hard to watch him go for the weekend, while Carson stayed here...but we did have some fun while his Daddy was gone :) Saturday, we went over to Matt and Tonia's to watch some football with Paula, Steve and Nolan. Carson got to play and Mom got to relax for awhile. It was nice. On Sunday, we decided to Surprise Adam by driving over to Wenatchee. It was A LOT colder over there! But Grandma Dorene and Grandpa Wayne were very excited to see Carson. Adams cousin, Ashley, was also there to visit.

Adam and his Dad shot a deer on Tuesday morning. The deer was shot at Mission Creek; after a mile and a half of hiking in, we spotted this one around a hillside road. Not too bad for a last day, last minute buck. We're looking forward to deer steaks and backstraps! We headed back to Kirkland that night. It was a nice break.

Carson is such a great baby, he really never cries and is always smiling. We are both so lucky to have such a happy baby around! We couldn't have asked for a better son. We are probably going to be starting rice cereal soon, depending on what his pediatrician says on the 26th. We are going in for a checkup, and to get the Hib shot that he missed (since they were out at his 4 month appt). He still has no teeth, which is fine with us! But he is a drooling machine. He also likes to put anything and everything in his mouth....so hands must be clean at all times.

Things that are exciting for us, we are seeing Twilight tomorrow night while Carson is being babysat by his Uncle Scott and Aunt Sarah. Saturday is Apple Cup, so he will definately be decked out in his Coug gear. He does have his doctor appt check up, and then Thanksgiving!

Too much has been going on!

Too much is going on...we keep saying we'll update this, but then life happens and we forget.

Parker tries his best now to get attention

Carson is getting SO big! He's about 4 1/2 months old, and he just had his 4 month check up. He is 26.5 inches long and 14 lbs 10 oz. He is in the 75 percentile for height and only 30th for weight. The doctor is having us come back in a month, but said that it is normal for babies to drop off for a little bit in the weight department. As long as he's still growing, he should be fine. He is a chubby baby, so I don't think he's lacking in that department! He has rolls and chubby cheeks...that we are both completely in love with! He is teething and drooling up a storm, which creates for very wet outfits. Anything that is put in his hands, goes directly in his mouth...so we always are watching out to what he has grabbed onto!

Genius?

New things: He laughs! His laugh is adorable! He is tickelish on his thighs and sides...and will just laugh and laugh and laugh when you get him going. He loves his jumperoo more and more everyday, and loves chewing on the sun that is attached to it. He finally realized he can spin around in the chair. He also takes his binky out and puts it back in his mouth, even if he drops it next to his head, he'll find it and put it in his mouth. He still sucks on his bottom lip, a lot...which is weird, but it shows that he knows his lips are there! He also puts his feet in his mouth all the time...and will rip off his socks (when he's wearing them). His hair is finally growing, and he very rarely has the mohawk. I miss my "Noob", but I love that his hair looks normal now!

Since it's been so long, many new things have been going on! Scott and Sarah got married on October 18th. Carson got all dressed up in his snazzy suit...and was able to dance with lots of pretty people, and just socialize. We all had fun and it was a beautiful wedding. Adams cousin Sarah, who lives in Las Vegas, was finally able to meet Carson and Parker. She was shocked at how short Parkers legs truly are, and she fell in love with the baby. Jenn, Sarah's sister, was up here from Georgia for the wedding...and was able to meet Carson as well. She was in luck, she saw him during his happy moments....and got to experience more babies, since she is due to have a baby girl in early January!

The week following Scott and Sarah's wedding, Grandma Dorene came over to house sit for Scott for the week. She enjoyed getting some time to see Carson, and cooked us dinner a few nights. Great Grandpa Jack was in town the day before he flew to Las Vegas for his 80th B-Day! We also had a chance to take the dogs to the puppy park.

Carson also got to experience a pumpkin patch before Halloween! We also carved him a pumpkin to sit in :) I guess you can call us "mean parents". For halloween, he dressed up as an "angry candycorn". On the onesie it said "I want candy"...and he wore his owl beanie. Him and Nolan (who was the cutest elephant ever), hung out on Halloween while we all watched movies at Carsons Uncle Steve and Aunt Paula's house.

Erin and Brandon also came over to hang out with Carson. Erin is so good with babies, and Carson adores her...so it was fun. We even got Brandon to change a diaper!! He's good with babies too! It was great to see them, and hopefully Carson will get to see Erin a lot more now!

Carson did stay updated with all of the election stuff, and was awake to see Obama win the election...we both felt it was a huge moment, and we were excited that Carson was able to be a part of this historic moment! Mind you, we know he won't remember it, but it was still cool to see :)

So, we've been busy busy busy....and time is flying. LOTS is coming up. Carsons Grandpa Brent comes into town tomorrow, and he's really excited to see his Grandpa :)

And we want to welcome a new addition to the Porter house. Sarah and Jason welcomed their son, Jackson Douglas into the world on 11/7/08 at 5:25 pm :) We can't wait to meet Jack, and hopefully him and Carson will get lots of playing time in!

Updates...

It's been awhile since we updated...so I guess this will be another long post :)

On Sept 27th (yes, it's been that long)...while Adam was out for Scott's bachelor party, Carson and I ended up hanging out with my family at my Aunt and Eric's house. They just got a new puppy, Sierra...and Carson absolutely loved it! He kept putting his hands in Sierra's mouth, kept trying to pet her. She is a German Shepard, 8 weeks old, and so cute. It made me miss my little puppy that we had. They do grow up though, as Parker has...he's 2 1/2 years old now! Carson never lacks in the attention department. He was the center of attention the entire time we were over there. My Aunt Tina also gave us TONS of toys and clothes....since Carson gets bored of his toys very easily, we are rotating them out.

We also made our weekly trip out to my Mom and Dave's house...where Carson got lots and lots of loves. We went out to lunch at the Gaslamp in Issaquah, and the owners even love him there! He loves one of the owners, Scott's, tie dye shirt. He stared and stared at it. When we got back to the house after lunch, Grandpa Dave met up with us, and even helped Carson with his tummy time....Carsons new favorite thing is reaching for people. Grandma Pam was holding him...and Carson kept reaching for his Grandpa. I think he likes his deep voice, it automatically calms him down.

The past week, Carson has learned lots of new things! He now sucks his thumb, which is the cutest thing ever. It's normally when he's sleeping, or when he's tired of his binky. He is now sleeping in his own room, and he sleeps TONS better than he did in our room. He actually slept ALL night on Saturday night, which was nice for me!! :) It's cute, cause in the middle of the night, over the moniter, you'll hear *suck suck suck suck* and he's sucking his thumb. It makes me smile every time.

Friday night, Adam and I were lucky enough to have Scott and Sarah babysit, and we went out for Sushi and Ice cream! It was nice to get out of the house and enjoy each others company...even if it was just for an hour and a half or so. The sushi was awesome, and the cold stone was good. Scott and Sarah got to entertain Carson, walk him around and change his diaper :)

Saturday, we hung out all day, not really doing much. That afternoon, we went over to Jerad and Lisa's house, where Carson was able to play with his cousin Lily. Lily is 2 weeks younger than Carson...and it was cute to see them together. Carson got to try out Lily's jumperoo...and he absolutely LOVED it. He still hasn't mastered the "jumping" portion of it, but he did like putting the toys in his mouth! We are going to get one soon for Carson. It was also great to catch up with Lisa, and Adam got to hang out with Jerad and his friends Scott and Danny...and do guy stuff, like play darts. I think Carson was so tired when we got home, that he slept for 8 full hours! I was shocked, amazed, and very very happy. I felt very well rested on Sunday morning.

So we decided to go to Salmon Days on Sunday. Carson slept through most of it, which was kind of nice. We just pushed him around in the stroller. The weather was actually somewhat decent on Sunday, and it ended up being the perfect day to go. We got one of his Christmas presents. Adam and I are starting the tradition where we are giving Carson a Christmas ornament every year, so that when he's grown up and moved out, he will have some for his own tree. We got him a WSU snowman with his name on it...it's so cute. We also went out to lunch, where he tried to make a mess of my area while I was eating. I swear, it was because I was holding a crazy baby, that's why my spot was so messy! Adam thinks I'm just a messy eater though :)

Yesterday, Carson started sucking on his bottom lip, he makes this funny face while doing it....but he keeps doing it. It's pretty cute. I had to take him to the pediatrician today. He had a rash on his face, but I guess it's a form of eczema. We just have to put some hydrocortezone cream on it twice daily. After putting it on once, his face looks a ton better. We felt so bad for him though, cause he was itching it so bad, and his face was getting all scratched! He hasn't really itched his face at all after I put the stuff on it! Carson weighs about 13 lbs 11 oz now....which is great. The doctor says that he's a little under 50th percentile for his weight. You'd never guess it by the size of his cheeks...but he is a skinny little guy.
