7 months old!!!!

Carson is getting SO close to crawling. He rocks on his hands and knees...and then takes one move, and falls on his face. Now that we rearranged the downstairs, he has so much room to go. If we take our eyes off of him for one second, he is into something :) It's worth it though! The only toys of his that he likes are his books and stuffed animals. He LOVES Parkers toys though, which makes for interesting times. Parker is really great about sharing though.

Carson also loves food. He is such a good eater. He eats lunch (babyfood mixed with rice cereal) and dinner now, two whole things of baby food a day. He loves all veggies except for green beans. He even loves sharing his peas with Parker! Which Parker happily takes, and eats. He is also finding his voice. Carson screams at the top of his lungs, very high-pitched, for fun. He is so happy though, we definately hit the jackpot with this one! He cries if he's hungry, tired, or teething...that's about it....and the cries last about a second.

One thing that definately cheers him up is Adam playing the guitar. When I was pregnant, Carson would kick me and go nuts anytime he heard him play. Now, he loves it even more. Instantly, once Adam starts playing, Carson is alllllllll smiles.

On the 15th, Carson got to be babysat by his Grandpa Dave. My mom and I went to go see Twilight again before it left theaters....so Grandpa Dave offerred to watch Keebs! Carson and him played cards (Carson chewed on them), and with his toys...even listened to the guitar! His favorite! I did feel bad though, because towards the end of the night, he was very very tired, and teething...and kind of cranky. But, Grandpa Dave enjoyed watching him!

Poor kid still has no teeth, but is majorly teething at the moment. We can see them through his little gums, but they are not poking through yet. They bother him sometimes, but for the most part, he is a trooper! But it is normally bad at night, and that's about it. We fill the mesh feeders from his Cousin Lily with ice chips, and he absolutely loves eating that. Anything cold, he loves in his mouth....poor baby.

Carson got a high chair as one of his Christmas presents from Grandpa Dave and Grandma Pam. He loves sitting at the table with us, and loves being taller than his "big brother". He plays in it, and loves eating crackers in it! We are celebrating my families Christmas on Saturday, so it should be an exciting day! Carson absolutely loves wrapping paper :)

Sugar Rush!

Its always a treat when the mail arrives and there is a big package in there made out to Carson Ray. He's always very interested in what he's getting. The package arrived from Grandma Dorene and Grandpa Wayne. He loves the Snugasaurus!

These 7 months have flown by! But there is good news! I'm returning to work at Microsoft, with the Licensing team, and I'm excited! Carson will be going to the daycare that I went to when I was 6 weeks old, and his cousins Mateo and Nolan go to. It's a scary thing, but we are both lucky in the fact that we have Melanie and Steve to take great care of him!

Also in the baby department, my friend from High School, Sara and her husband Cy are expecting a baby boy! Boys are awesome...and we are so lucky that Carson is here :)

Also, congrats to Justin and Jenn on Emmerson's arrival! We know it's late, but better late than never! She is beautiful!

Visits with family and Cousins

Carson got to visit with his great grandparents on Thursday the 8th, and open his Christmas present from them. They got him two cute pajama sets. One is blue and has a hoodie with little ears on it. The other is a little baseball outfit. SO CUTE! I can't wait to see him grow into them, as he is just a little guy, and most 9 month clothing is still a little too big!

Big Boy!

Friday the 9th, Carson got to see his Papa Dave and Grandma Pam! They were out of town, in Hawaii for the holidays...so he was super excited to see them! Carson got to get lots of treats while with them, he loves it when we go out, cause he can have french fries. So, we got to hang out, spend time with Keebs...it was a fun day.

Saturday, we donated some stuff to goodwill, as we rearranged our entire downstairs, and felt it was time to let go of some items. We also went to go see my brother Jerad, his wife Lisa, and their daughter, Lily. Lily is exactly 2 weeks younger than Carson.

Jerad smoked some ribs, and they were soooo good. We also just hung out, had some drinks, and relaxed. It was cute seeing the kiddos together. They also were both fighting sleep, and actually fell asleep at the same time, which was cute. Finally, when they were awake, they both got some tummy time on the floor, to show off eachothers skills. Carson kept trying to roll over on top of Lily, Lily kept taking toys away from Carson. Carson is definately a boy. Both kids had fun though. They also opened up their Christmas presents. Carson says "Thank you Uncle Jerad and Aunt Lisa for the outfits and mesh feeder!"

New Years!!

This year, having a baby and everything, it wasn't convenient to "go out". Both of us wanted to have a low-key night, just relax...no pressure to do anything. Plus, I wanted to actually spend the last few moments of 2008 with Carson and Adam!

Since my brother Steve, and sister-in-law, Paula were not doing anything, we decided to go over there. My nieces and nephew love seeing Carson, so it was nice to go and visit. Nolan and Mateo were being adorable, they love trying to hold Carson (even though he's getting bigger and squirmier).

Paula and I got to catch up, while Steve and Adam watched movies and drank beer.
We left around 11:20, and made it home before midnight. Carson was asleep in his bed, and we had some champagne, watched part of a movie, and went to bed around 1 am.

1 year ago...

It's crazy to think that 1 year ago, Adam and I were wondering about what we were having. We were so nervous, so excited, and of course, impatient to figure out! We spent countless hours arguing over girls names, only to come up empty-handed! We would talk about what he/she would look like, what toys he'll like, what the personality he'll like. Anytime we went to a store that sold baby items, we would both stop and look at EVERYTHING!

Let's just say, this year has FLOWN by. 2008 was the best year of both of our lives. It's just crazy that one year ago, I was about 18 weeks pregnant, just getting ready to figure out what we were having, and now, we have this little life.

2008 brought us many great things. Carson has been such a welcomed addition to our family! He is loved so much, by so many. I know I couldn't imagine life without him, and I'm so thankful that he has brought so many smiles, tears and happiness! I love watching him learn new things, every day it is a new experience for him! He is almost crawling now, he drags his legs...and books it EVERYWHERE. He does not stay still for long. I wouldn't change this for the world....

6 month old Keebs

Just thought I'd post something other than our usual day-to-day life. 2009 is going to be a great year, but I just wanted to reminisce about 2008...and how thankful I am for my son.

Congratulations Jenn and Justin on your beautiful girl! Emmerson Grace Hawthorne was born on January 1st at 3:24 pm :) Enjoy them while they are little....they do grow up so fast!
